Symptom: The Cisco Email Security Appliance (ESA) has an invalid DNS server address configured. This invalid DNS server accepts the DNS request but does not respond. The ESA can generate application faults when many DNS resolutions to the not responding DNS server are in process. If there is a second DNS server configured the DNS requests should be resolved by that DNS server but are not. Conditions: The ESA is configured with a DNS server which does not respond.
