Description (partial)

The Cisco Email Security Appliance (ESA) has an invalid DNS server address configured. This invalid DNS server accepts the DNS request but does not
respond. The ESA can generate application faults when many DNS resolutions to the not responding DNS server are in process. If there is a second DNS
server configured the DNS requests should be resolved by that DNS server but are not.

The ESA is configured with a DNS server which does not respond.

Ironport WSA reached maximum failures querying DNS server
I have been seeing an increased number of critical alerts on my Ironport indicating that it has reached the maximum number of failures querying the DNS server.  Has anyone seen this alerts before and/or know what causes them? I have not been able to find any information on the alert.   Thanks
