Description (partial)

The presence and availability of EPC (Ethernet Packet Capture) syntax on Sup2T platform is no-longer required for the troubleshooting purposes for which it was originally implemented.
-NetDR can be used for Software-forwarded and CPU interrupt traffic
-MPA can be used for onboard packet capture and analysis.
-ELAM can be used to check forwarding decision in hardware

On a Switch which is already in a vulnerable state, EPC has been observed to have an adverse effect on Control-Plane functions and can potentially cause an outage.
