Cisco Bug: CSCvv97484 - Enh:Provide session idle time replication across the cluster

Last Modified

Oct 06, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco SD-WAN

Known Affected Releases

19.2.3

Description (partial)

Symptom:

Since day one, vManage does not provide a way to replicate the idle timeout of a given client/API session across a cluster.

On load balancing scenario, if requests are distributed across servers in the cluster, it is possible that a server will not receive them in a frequency high enough to avoid idle timeout to kick in, and delete the session
For example, if the application doing API queries, launches one every 20 minutes, across a server of 3 nodes, after 30 min, the first node will have expired

Per engineering feedback, this is day one behavior

Conditions:
API queries on low frequency
Load balancer in front of the vManage cluster

API frequency per server is lower than 30 min
