Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers

Known Affected Releases

6.5.2.BASE

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Faulty expiry can detected at the timing of link failure as below.

LC/0/1/CPU0:Sep 23 10:13:39.904 CEST: bfd_agent[191]: %L2-BFD-4-ASYNC_DETECT_TIMER_FAULTY_EXPIRY : BFD Async Detect timer expired to neighbor X.X.X.X on interface Bundle-Ether500.403 even when async pkt received within timer duration, timer_duration=2997000 us, 2996500 us elapsed since last async pkt received

This will reset the BFD detect timer, so it will take more time for actual BFD down.

Conditions:
The only confirmed condition is the device is running IOS-XR 64bit (eXR)
