Cisco Bug: CSCvv86764 - BGP doesn't separate 'received & used' path to 'received-only' and 'used' paths on Gshut activation
Oct 07, 2020
- Cisco Network Convergence System 5500 Series
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Topology: ~~~~~~~~ (Spirent)R2 -----(ebgp)------ (SE1)R1 ------(ebgp)------(SE2)R3 BGP does not separate 'received & used' path to 'received-only' and 'used' paths when graceful-maintenance is activated for a neighbor. It also doesn't collapse 'received-only' and 'used' paths to 'received & used' path when graceful-maintenance is deactivated. 'graceful-shut' path flag is set on the 'received & used' path when graceful-maintenance is activated on R1 towards R2 in presence of 'soft reconfiguration inbound' on R1 towards R2. Has no functional impact. But takes up more memory if 'received-only' and 'used' paths are not collapsed into 'received & used' path on gshut deactivation Conditions: BGP neighbor flap or process restart when "Graceful-Maintenance activate" and "soft-reconfiguration inbound" is configured for the neighbor.
