Symptom:
Syslog is unable to resolve dns address 

with in messages.log
2020-09-15T23:55:47.295+01:00 syslog-ng[1355]: Initiating connection failed, reconnecting; time_reopen='60'
2020-09-15T23:56:47.295+01:00 syslog-ng[1355]: Error resolving hostname; host='<hostname here>`

Conditions:
DNS entry for syslog server that returns ipv6 address as highest priority. 
and 
system do not have a valid ipv6 configuartion
