Last Modified

Oct 04, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers

Known Affected Releases

6.2.3.CE

Description (partial)

Symptom:
stp_controller process abnormally restarted on active RSP

Conditions:
This issue can occur shortly after a change in the number of VLANs protected by PVRST, or the number of MSTP instances. Note that this is a 2-stage trigger - it needs both the change in number of VLANs/instances, then a subsequent change of spanning-tree state.

The second stage may occur some time after the configuration change.
