Last Modified

  • Cisco Firepower Management Center Virtual Appliance

Known Affected Releases

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Seeing Snort processes go into a "D" state for an extended period of time.
Loss in traffic, either entirely, or just partially.

Conditions:
there are many conditions which trigger this, but primarily you can see this happen when snort is using a "high" amount of memory. "high" being very relative terms relating to the model, version, and features enabled on the device.
This seems more likely to happen if snort has not been restarted for a long (1+ weeks) period of time.
