Description (partial)

Symptom:
-A NIM-ES2-8-P module may not forward traffic if it is brand new out of the box.

Example of noticed symptoms are:
- Gig ports with ┬┤switchport mode trunk┬┤ configuration and direct connection to another NIM module fails

- Physical interfaces be up, up, but no packets flow through the NIM module.

- Other types of configuration may also be affected

Conditions:
This caveat only applies for brand new, out of the box devices.

When the router first time boots, an automatic firmware upgrade may be required for the NIM-ES2-8-P model or similar.

To check if this upgrade happened correctly, use the commands:

#show pl ha sub X/X module device "test poe firmware"

If the 'current running firmware version' is different from the 'latest version' you may be hitting this issue.

Affected:
current running firmware version 0x14072200, latest version 0x14072202

current running firmware version 0x14072202, latest version 0x14072202
