Cisco Bug: CSCvv48839 - double arp with L2 NAT
Sep 03, 2020
- Cisco Industrial Ethernet 4000 Series Switches
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: IE-4000-4GS8GP4G-E switch intermittently does not "fixup" ARP reply packets for hosts it performs layer 2 translation on. This causes the IE4000 to forward ARP reply packet from a layer 2 translated host that have been "fixup" by l2nat (which is expected) and not. You can observe this behavior by taking a packet capture on the uplink of the IE4000 and observing both translated and non-translated ARP reply packets from the same host; only translated ARP reply packets should be observed. Conditions: configure l2nat on the IE4000 switch. configure l2nat on the IE4000 switch for hosts that have a 1 second arp timeout.
