Last Modified

Oct 13, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco 4000 Series Integrated Services Routers

Known Affected Releases

16.6.5

Description (partial)

Symptom:
The affected device shows multiple log messages for packets delivered through L2 injection instead of L3:

Aug 14 09:18:53.180: %IOSXE_INFRA-3-INJECT_HDR_LENGTH_ERR: Inject hdr size 1535049760 exceeds limit
Aug 14 09:18:53.181: %LSMPI-4-INJECT_FEATURE_ESCAPE: Egress IP packet delivered via legacy inject path

The log indicated that the packet header size exceeds it limit value. A traceback is accompanied by these logs, TAC assistance is required to decode the messages.

The decode shows that the log is triggered by IP SLA with UDP.
