Last Modified

Oct 24, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco LAN Switch Software

Known Affected Releases

2.5.7.x

Description (partial)

Symptom:
SG350X IP DHCP snooping binding shows no DHCP client entries after the initial lease period if IP source guard is enabled on the DHCP client side (switch interface) and the upstream switch interface (towards the DHCP server) is configured as a layer 3 interface. Network hosts will lose network communications once the initial DHCP lease period has expired. Testing was performed with version 2.5.5.47.

Conditions:
SG350X is configured as follows:
1.) IP DHCP snooping binding is enabled.
2.) The switch is configured in a layer 3 configuration, specify the upstream interface towards the DHCP server.
<DHCP Client>---(VLAN 10/SVI SG350 Switch L3 Interface)----(L3 Interface SG350 Switch VLAN 20/SVI)---<DHCP Server>
