Cisco Bug: CSCvv36700 - DOC:Cisco DNA Center Application Visibility User Guide needs to specify limitations of Health Score

Last Modified

Aug 17, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco DNA Center

Known Affected Releases

none

Description (partial)

Symptom:
In Cisco DNA Center's User Guide for Application Visibility, it does not clearly state that Catalyst 9K and AireOS WLCs do not generate a Health Score. This is because Catalyst 9k and AireOS WLCs do not capture the required key performance indicators (KPIs) for a health score to be calculated.

In the guide, at two different sections, there are side notes that off-handedly state this. One section states: "Application Experience data exported by a Cisco Catalyst 9K switch or Cisco AireOS WLC only provides data for the application name, usage, and throughput".

In a different side note, it states:
"The workflow for calculating the individual Application Health score is as follows:

1. Obtain the KPIs: Jitter, Latency, and Packet Loss ".
--- output omitted ---

This causes confusion for the customer. At the beginning of the guide, it should clearly state that Catalyst 9K and AireOS WLCs do not poll the required KPIs for a health score to be generated.

Conditions:
This was observed in the Cisco DNA Center User Guide for 1.3.3.x.
