Cisco Bug: CSCvv33264 - Validation Error about Cluster CCL Network default value 0.0.0.0 is misleading

Last Modified

Aug 25, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco Firepower 9300 Series

Known Affected Releases

2.8(1.105)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
According to the FXOS Configuration Guide, by default, the cluster control link uses the 127.2.0.0/16 network

If during a Cluster setup you specify the CCL IP within the 127/8 range (e.g. 127.2.0.0) a Validation Error will be shown mentioning:
"Cluster Control Link Network 127.2.0.0 should be in range from [1.0.0.0 to 223.255.0.0 except 127.0.0.0/8], and 0.0.0.0 is default value."

The note about '0.0.0.0 is default value' is misleading since the default value is 127.2.0.0/16.

Conditions:
You specify the CCL Network manually with un-supported value.
