Cisco Bug: CSCvv32765 - ReadMe of COP file has contradicting information about the need to reboot

Last Modified

Sep 04, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CallManager)

Known Affected Releases

11.5(1)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
This is a documentation issue. The ReadMe for COP files ciscocm.CSCvq17528_vmtools_initramfs_v1.2.cop.sgn and ciscocm.CSCvq17528_vmtools_initramfs_v1.3.cop.sgn on page 3 have these two contradictory statements:

"A system reboot is required when the upgrade process completes or is canceled. This will ensure services affected by the upgrade process are functioning properly."

"No reboot is required as part of the COP file install."

In fact, for this particular COP file, a reboot is actually required, due to some of the defects that it fixes.

Conditions:
Seen on CUCM, CUC, IM&P 11.5(1)SU4. This should affect 10.5(2), 12.0(1), and 12.5(1) as well, due to the nature of the documentation defect.
