Cisco Bug: CSCvv32282 - show install history last package gives error after install replace when 87% of diskspace is filled

Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco 8000 Series Routers

Known Affected Releases

7.0.14.BASE 7.3.1.BASE

Description (partial)

Symptom:
<cmdBold>show install history last<noCmdBold> commands fail with an error:
<cmdBold>There was an error attempting to retrieve the operational history data.: 'sysdb' detected the 'warning' condition 'A verifier or EDM callback function returned: 'internal error''<noCmdBold>

Conditions:
In LNT platforms, if the disk is nearly full, and install operation fails with the error (as seen in <cmdBold>show install request<noCmdBold>):
Disk space check failed on nodes: 0/RP0/CPU0. Remove unnecessary files in rootfs before retrying operation, or remove unnecessary rollback points using 'clear install rollback id \<id\>'. If a transaction is currently in progress, it may need to be ended in order to free up disk space from removed files or rollback points. Automatically recovered after failure, ready for next user request.

If the user then attempts to run one of the commands that starts with the keywords:
<cmdBold>show install history last<noCmdBold>

Or:
<cmdBold>show install log<noCmdBold>

And the command fails with:
<cmdBold>There was an error attempting to retrieve the operational history data.: 'sysdb' detected the 'warning' condition 'A verifier or EDM callback function returned: 'internal error''<noCmdBold>

For confirmation, from the shell, run <cmdBold>inst_show_last_tb<noCmdBold>, and traceback for instorch will end with:
OverflowError: value too large to convert to uint32_t
