Last Modified

Aug 08, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series Switches

Known Affected Releases

Amsterdam-17.2.1

Description (partial)

Symptom:
No syslog message is generated, when a BMCA is triggered due to a fail-over from primary GMC to backup GMC.
On Nexus9k, a syslog message beginning with " %PTP-2-PTP_GM_CHANGE: Grandmaster clock has changed from MAC-address-1 Mac-Address2 " is generated.

Conditions:
Grand master clocks are attached to cat9k switches. The first GMC is shutdown to trigger a failover.
The backup grand master clock takes over.
