Cisco Bug: CSCvv18330 - Prime Infrastructure SWIM doesn't validate image integrity
Sep 10, 2020
- Cisco Prime Infrastructure
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: Prime Infrastructure's documentation should explicitly call out the fact that currently, Prime Infrastructure does not do image validation of images manually downloaded from Cisco.com, and imported into the SWIM Image Repository. If a user downloads an image that gets corrupted, the Image Import process will not know that the image is corrupt, nor would the SWIM Distribution or Activation processes know that the image is corrupt. Until the device reloads, and is unable to boot correctly because of the corrupt image, would the problem be discovered. Conditions: This was observed in Prime Infrastructure 3.1.7, after a SWIM Image Distribution and Activation of a corrupted image was performed.
