Cisco Bug: CSCvv17410 - C9800 GUI: Add progress indicator for trace generation

Last Modified

Oct 09, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers

Known Affected Releases

16.12.2s

Description (partial)

Symptom:
On CLI, when always on or ra traces are generated, btdecode prints % decoded so end user is aware of progress especially since this is a session blocking CLI.
On GUI, all we see is a spinning wheel/busy signal. When traces are generated for extended period of time, this can be seen for long periods. From an end user experience, it becomes unclear if GUI is busy processing something (btdecode in this case) OR if GUI is hung.

There should be a real-time progress indicator showing progress while traces are being processed.

Conditions:
This applies only to GUI trace generation
