Cisco Bug: CSCvv15409 - Control option for auto-registration on gateway page

Last Modified

Aug 24, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CallManager)

Known Affected Releases

12.5(1.12900.115)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Part of CUCM 12.5.1SU2 is a new feature called Self Provisioning of Analog Phones. This includes auto-registration capabilities for analog FXS ports on SCCP-controlled VG310, VG350, VG400, VG450, and ISR4K series. When SCCP auto-config is configured on a supported gateway, and auto-registration is enabled on one of the suscribers in a CUCM cluster, an analog FXS port on the gateway will fetch a directory number from the pool of auto-registration DNs and register to CUCM even if that port is not pre-configured manually in CUCM. There are certain scenarios in which customers want to use the Auto Registration capabilities in CUCM for IP phone provisioning, but not use the same for Analog Phones. However, there is currently no control option to disable auto-registration for analog ports on the Gateway configuration page in CUCM. This enhancement request is being filed to get this addressed.

Conditions:
CUCM 12.5.1 SU2
SCCP-controlled VG310, VG350, VG400, VG450, or ISR4K series
Auto Registration is enabled on CUCM, and Gateway is configured for SCCP auto-config
