Known Affected Releases

17.2.1r 17.3.1

Description (partial)

Symptom:
The ASR1K router crashed after a couple hours after upgraded from 16.12.2 to 17.2.1. It has multiple kernel crash files, routers were in booting loop and were recovered by cold start. Impacts: ASR1001-X , ASR1001-HX, ASR1002-HX

Conditions:
The issue occurred on ASR1K routers after upgraded from 16.12.2 to 17.2.1. The reboots started a couple of hours after the upgrade was completed.

Several routers displayed the same behavior. There are some lab routers that were upgraded with the same image, and these don't show any behavior. The only difference between these and the ones that crashed is that the first ones had 16Gb of memory, while the ones from the lab had 8GB.
