Cisco Bug: CSCvv09323 - ESC backup and restore does not restore the file

Description (partial)

When performing an ESC backup and then restore using the escadm script, local changes in the /opt/cisco/esc/esc_database/ file are not part of the backup archive file, and are therefore not restored to the new ESC VM.

This is unexpected as a system restored from a backup file is presumed to have all local configuration changes re-applied.

This occurs when the escadm script is used to perform the backup (and restore). For example: "sudo escadm backup" and "sudo escadm restore <filename>.tar.bz2"
