Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco Network Convergence System 5000 Series

Known Affected Releases

6.5.3.BASE 7.3.1.CE

Description (partial)

Symptom:
On a NCS5000 node, an attempt to provision L2 service like a Local switching or EoMPLS Xconnect, with one of the segments being L2 Main Interface, could potentially fail. Once the failure is hit, any attempt to recover by removing the respective config could leave the system in a inconsistent state, with stale entries in software database and NPU Hardware.

This is a rare timing issue that get exposed by asynchronous updates by two threads running concurrently.

Conditions:
Provision L2 service like a Local switching or EoMPLS Xconnect, with one of the segments being L2 Main Interface.
