Symptom: Upon interface flap nexus is not able to send VTP joins on timely manner/ and MTS on VTP data Q starts to build up. This will cause downstream switches to prune VLANs and causing impact for that VLANs. issue is seen on scaled setup with 150 trunks that are connected to switches which are expecting join messages each 6 seconds. Conditions: VTP V1. VTP Pruning enabled on 150 interface trunks. Trigger: Interface flap (shut/no shut) configure terminal ; interface Ethernet5/36-38, Ethernet6/26 ; OR reload multiple catalyst switches in the same time.
