Unable to do a deployment. The error seen in the FMC UI is
Deployment failed due to configuration error. If a problem persists after retrying, contact Cisco TAC.

The most likely scenario for this is in the event a backup was restored to a device, the new device was registered to the FMC so that it can install a patch to get to the same version as the backup, this requires a new IP than the device you are replacing. Once you restore the backup the device the device IP will be the same for both the old and new device. 
If you do not remove the old device from the network, and you change the IP of the old device to be the same as the temporary IP used to update the new device, you might end up in this situation.
