Cisco Bug: CSCvu75855 - stunnel process enabled on managed device when it should not be

Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco Firepower Management Center Virtual Appliance

Known Affected Releases

6.5.0 6.6.0 6.7.0

Description (partial)

Getting a health alert stunnel exited 5 time(s).
The stunnel process is in a Running state on the device, when it should be Waiting or not there at all.

This happens if you put the device into onbox management mode at one point in time. After you register the device to the FMC, the service does not turn off as it should.

If a device is running version 6.5 or higher and was upgraded from a version prior to 6.5 (i.e. the device started on a lower version than 6.5, including if the device was restored via a backup from a device that started on a lower version) then you may see the stunnel process exiting constantly, and getting health alerts.
