Description (partial)

Symptom:
sipd (SIP Proxy) may crash intermittently with following backtrace:

Thread 1 (Thread 0xf77ad900 (LWP 4877)):
#0 0x009f8430 in __kernel_vsyscall ()

#2 0x007e005a in abort () from /lib/libc.so.6
#3 0x0081e645 in __libc_message () from /lib/libc.so.6
#4 0x00824bb1 in malloc_printerr () from /lib/libc.so.6
#5 0x008275d2 in _int_free () from /lib/libc.so.6

#7 0x081a9673 in make_child (s=0x9c03460, slot=15) at prefork.c:1041
#8 0x081aa09c in startup_children (_pconf=0x9bfb440, plog=0x9c575b0, s=0x9c03460) at prefork.c:1059
#9 ap_mpm_run (_pconf=0x9bfb440, plog=0x9c575b0, s=0x9c03460) at prefork.c:1423
#10 0x081632e4 in main (argc=2, argv=0xfffe0fa4) at main.c:717

This is happening after message was already processed and after the crash parent sipd process will immediately create new child process so no direct user impact is caused due to the crash.
