Cisco Bug: CSCvu68722 - ESC A/A Geo leader switchover due to leadership loss

Last Modified

Jul 21, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco Elastic Services Controller

Known Affected Releases

5.0 5.1 5.2

Description (partial)

Symptom:
When ESC is deployed as an A/A cluster, the current leader node can unexpectedly loose leadership role when the cluster is managing a large number of VNFs (> 3500). This causes a leadership transfer to another cluster node. The new leader successfully assumes the cluster leadership role; the previous leader remains operational in follower role.

While the leadership switch is being performed new service requests from the NB interface can not be serviced.

When this condition

Conditions:
This behaviour has been observed when the NB (ETSI) performs a bulk query of all deployments (e.g. via /vnflcm/v1/vnf_instances).
