Cisco Bug: CSCvu63390 - 712.24I emsd cpu hog after running gRPC and gNMI Gets
Jul 20, 2020
- Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers
Known Affected Releases
Release-note Symptom: CPU hog is reported by system monitor, PAM during the get-oper requests and after these requests are completed or stopped. There're actually 2 separate issues. One is CPU hog during data collection and one is client side cancelling request as it can be timed out or stopped. Conditions: For the first issue, data collection, the grpc's CPU utilization is expected very high during this time especially when the response data is so large or there're multiple parallel oper requests ongoing. For the second issue, there's a missing handling in the grpc server to handle the case where the client stops the request while it's in the middle of processing. As the result, the server is still processing the data till the end. This ddts will address it.
