Cisco Bug: CSCvu60789 - ESA Consolidated Logs UTF-8 encoded interpretation

Last Modified

Sep 29, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco Email Security Appliance

Known Affected Releases

11.0.2-044 13.0.0-392

Description (partial)

Symptom:
When UTF-8 consolidated logs are sent from the ESA to a server, the data is sent as the ESA has received it.

In this way, records with special characters are obtained from the server, such as: '=? Utf-8, / n, / r and they don't allow to get clean logs. Sending the decoded data avoiding special characters would help in administrative tasks.

Conditions:
Consolidated logs enabled
Send logs to Syslog server
