Cisco Bug: CSCvu50049 - ASA:Not replicating specific configuration to standby ASA when copying config file to the active ASA

Last Modified

Oct 28, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software

Known Affected Releases

9.12(3.2)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
We confirmed the ASA running v9.12.3.2 is not properly replicating specific configuration to the standby ASA when copying the config file to the active ASA disk0.

For us, the specific configuration not getting replicated from the active to the standby ASA was the "management-only" for the ASA interfaces.

This issue happened for customer when he migrated his ASA multi-context configuration from one ASA model to a newer one by transferring the configuration files to the active ASA disk0 and setting up the new contexts pointing to the transferred config file in disk0.

Conditions:
1.- ASA working in active/standby failover and in multiple context.

AND

2.- Transfer the config file to the disk0 of the active ASA and setup the context pointing to the file transferred.
