Jun 07, 2020
- Cisco Firepower Management Center
Known Affected Releases
Symptom: After enabling IMAP preprocessor and intrusion rules IMAP_UNKNOWN_CMD (141:1:2) and IMAP_UNKNOWN_RESP (141:2:2), false positive alerts are seen when pulling emails from IMAP mail server using unencrypted IMAP traffic: 'ID' and 'Enable' are not listed as known commands, which will trigger a lot of false positives when trying to inspect regular use of IMAP traffic. Conditions: IMAP Preprocessor is enabled in the Network Analysis Policy and rules 141:1:2 and 141:2:2 configured to generate alerts.
