Last Modified

Sep 29, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers

Known Affected Releases

7.2.1.BASE 7.4.1.BASE

Description (partial)

Release-note

Symptom:
BGP ipv4 mvpn global table type 7 route disappear on tail node and multicast traffic drop.

Conditions:
This issue occurs under the following scenario:
1. Global-table-multicast is enabled under router bgp address-family ipv4 mvpn
2. There is no vrf configured under router bgp.
3. Route-reflector-client is configured under ipv4 mvpn for some neighbor.

If the above conditions are met, when bgp session flaps (ipv4 mvpn type 1 route flaps), bgp will no longer install remote received type 1 route in PIM which will result in type 7 not getting regenerated.

This is the PE/RR case for global-table-multicast.
