Last Modified

Jun 12, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco IP Communicator

Known Affected Releases

8.6(6.0)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
1) IP Communicator crashes when Headset is unplugged from the PC. The CIPC does not work without a headset.
2) The Audio Tuning Wizard does not give options to select audio devices from the dropdown.

* Unable to use the Gen 4 built-in laptop Speakers & Microphone to initiate/receive phone calls, you must always have a headset connected > Even if the headset is connected in Windows you must also set the headset as the Default Device & Default Communication Device or CIPC won’t launch.
* While on a phone call using the Headset > Unable to use the "Speakerphone" option to switch to the laptop’s built-in speakers.
* CIPC does not list the speakers as a drop-down option in the auto-tuning wizard. It will only recognize the laptop’s built-in speakers IF it is used as a ringer.

Conditions:
It only occurs on the following few laptop models(known so far) and there are no issues with several other Lenovo and Dell laptop models
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen7
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen4 like Type 20QF (Machine Type Model: 20QF000GUS)
