Last Modified

Jul 24, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Switches

Known Affected Releases

7.3(6)D1(1)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Multicast programming is severely delayed on mVPN convergence. This leads to multicast traffic loss which last for more than 20 seconds.

PIM is updated on the OIFL list to add MTI which is informed to MRIB in timely sequence. MRIB to MFDM interaction is delayed.

Conditions:
VPC VDC with CE-PE collapsed. Sources are behind VPC and receiver is across MPLS cloud.
Switch 1 is reloaded and Switch 2 takes over as Multicast forwarder. Remote PE sends the join towards new Multicast forwarded Switch 2.
