Last Modified

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CallManager)

Known Affected Releases

12.5(1.10000.22) 14.0(0.98000.1041)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Attempting to switch to open-vm-tools by using "utils vmtools switch open" appears to succeed but post Restart of the Server, vCenter / ESXi indicates VM is NOT running any VMware Tools versions.

Conditions:
After issuing the "utils vmtools switch open" command and agreeing to proceed, the server successfully uninstalls the existing Native VMware Tools version and attempts to install the open-vm-tools but the install runs in to a silent failure. The server proceeds to reboot anyways..

We can see the install of open-vm-tools runs in to this error in "file view activelog platform/log/vmtools.log"

warning: %post(open-vm-tools-10.1.5-3.el7.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status 127
