Cisco Bug: CSCvu18789 - enhancement/documentation defect for call forward in self care portal

Last Modified

Jun 10, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CallManager)

Known Affected Releases

12.5(1.13000.71)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
- when the administrator configures it from the line, they will be aware to configure the correct CSS for the forwarding, so the call will be behaving correctly as per their requirement.
- However, when an end-user performs the same from the self -care portal , getting this message will confuse them as they will be expecting forwarding will always work , while it will not as per the line sittings config done by the admin on the line page.
- So , When we assign the CSS for the phone to be able to forward the call when configuring the Forward All in Line page, user is able to send the call.
- When we remove the CSS, call does not get Forwarded from the Line configuration page.
- But , in both scenarios, the user will see in his/her phone, either physical or softphone ? Forwarded to ###? regardless of the routing settings . .
- Hence, the Administrator must assign the appropriate CSS for User’s page , which is not allowed for users from self-care portal, Then User can set the Forward number from Self-care Portal and this time it will be forwarded. This is as per design, Because User does not have access to set the CSS and Partition only Admin can set this configs.
- we can see this message in case forward should work or shouldn’t work , if we set it up from line sittings on the admin page or from self-care portal, and the same has been verified with the developers.
- If you don’t want to show the forwarding sittings, you can perform the following :
++ In the CUCM, under System > Enterprise Parameters > Self Care Portal Parameters section, set the value of the parameter "Show Call Forwarding" to "Hide All Settings"

Conditions:
When configuring a call forward all from self-care portal , we get a message on the phone like ? forwarded to ###? , however, the call shouldn’t be forwarded, tested the call, and it is giving recording as expected ?? your call cannot be completed as dialed ? :
