Cisco Bug: CSCvu18057 - Pluggable Removal leading to slice manager crash
Jun 01, 2020
- Cisco Carrier Routing System
Known Affected Releases
On pluggable removal, slice manager crash observed. Symptom: Slice manager crash was observed because code was trying to access the part of code which was deallocated on pluggable removal. Conditions: On pluggable removal, optics software context gets removed or deallocated. Pluggable oir & LOS monitoring are two different threads accessing same region of interest i.e pluggable software context. However, there is mutex to avoid race condition. LOS thread need to check the validity of context pointer even after taking the mutex lock because there is possibility other oir thread might delete context while LOS thread is waiting for taking the mutex.
