Description (partial)

While attempting to generate a certificate signing request (CSR), Cisco Smart Software Manager OnPrem sends two UDP port 53 DNS A record query for the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) in the subject alternative name (SAN) field, if the SAN contains an FQDN). If there is no answer, OnPrem sends another two UDP port 53 DNS AAAA record queries. If there is still no answer OnPrem immediately reports, "Generate CSR - The Subject Alternative Name in csr_request is not valid DNS or IP, please try again."

This request is to make the error message more actionable to the user, for example, "Error: No DNS A Record for the SAN rxxxxx-cssm.internetwork found. Please make sure your DNS servers respond with a valid A or AAAA record".

While trying to generate a CSR in OnPrem, a very generic message is returned.
