Cisco Bug: CSCvu12443 - BNG: Radius attribute "Framed-IPv6-route" parameters not correctly processed

Last Modified

Sep 02, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers

Known Affected Releases

6.4.1.BASE

Description (partial)

Symptom:
The attribute "framed-ipv6-route" without a next hop, without admin distance configured and with a tag > 255 will fail to install in the routing table.
when a value lower then 256 is used, the value is perceived as an admin distance.

Example of success:

Example of incorrectly formatted ipv6 framed routes::
ipv6-route      len= 26  value= 2000:18c8:256::/48 tag 256
     this will fail to install in the RIB because an admin distance of >256 is not acceptable
    it is also 'incorrect' because the tag value desired to be set is not perceived as such.
ipv6-route      len= 26  value= 2000:18c8:255::/48 tag 255
    this will be installed in the rib, but with an admin distance of 255. this is not the intend.

Conditions:
The Radius attribute "framed-ipv6-route" only specifies the prefix and the tag.
