Cisco Bug: CSCvu07720 - Lpe16002BM6 negotiates to 8G when speed changed to auto when port in 'Link failure or not-connected'

Last Modified

  • Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches

Known Affected Releases

9.3(4)IIL9(0.802)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
16G Lpe16002B-M6 adapter is connected to a port with 32G SFP on N93360YC-FX2 switch.
When the speed is set to 'auto', the port auto-negotiates to 8G instead of auto-negotiating to 16G.

Conditions:
When the speed is set to fixed 32G the port goes into ‘Link failure or not-connected’ which is expected as it is a 16G adapter. After that if the speed is set to 'auto', the port auto-negotiates to 8G and goes into error-disabled state instead of auto-negotiating to 16G.
