Last Modified

  • Cisco PGW Packet Data Network Gateway
  • Cisco PGW Packet Data Network Gateway

Known Affected Releases

21.16.7 21.17.13 21.18.12 21.19.M0.74761 21.20.5 21.21.0

Description (partial)

System capacity is limited by one iftask PMD thread recording significantly higher CPU utilization than the other PMD threads.

Symptom:
Significant CPU load imbalance across the iftask PMD threads due to DINet Rx decryption activity. This limits system capacity in circumstances where the load on the PMD thread(s) at peak utilization could be off-loaded to the other, less utilized, PMD threads.

Conditions:
VPC-DI systems with large amounts of encrypted control plane traffic. These are most commonly MME configurations.
