Cisco Bug: CSCvu05478 - unable to upload multiple certificates from same certificate authority

Last Modified

Jul 20, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CallManager)

Known Affected Releases

12.5(1) 12.5(1.11)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Unable to upload multiple certificates from a single certificate authority:

CertMgmt implementation creates filename.pem in the trust-store while uploading a certificate. The filename is based on the certificate Common Name (CN) CN.pem, which is wrong.
A CN value is not a unique field and a certificate authority can use the same CN across multiple certificates.

The CA like GlobalSign, Symantec can use the same CN across multiple certificates.

Example:
https://valid.r1.roots.globalsign.com
https://valid.r5.roots.globalsign.com
https://valid.r3.roots.globalsign.com

While uploading these certificates CertMgmt creating the file as GlobalSign.pem; return "SUCCESS" for all the three certs but actually upload only one

Conditions:
unable to upload multiple certificates from same certificate authority

Refer the "CSCvu05478-steps-to-reproduce.pdf" attachment in the CDET for more details on:

1) how to reproduce
2) screenshots of the cert. import flow
3) justification of why would this be a blocker to adopt 'OAuth support with GMail'
