Known Affected Releases

12.5(1.12900.15)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Incremental discoveries not updating phones' information. Major discoveries working fine.

CER stops the process of pulling changed phone information. It is caused due to the search of ipv6 address in a different OID data. The information of the ipv6 address is present in 8th OID; however, the 5th OID is being searched for the ipv6 address.

3-ERROR:EvalTask-CerGMPD-07 :CerGMPDSMFGetCCMPhon.readPhoneTable java.net.UnknownHostException: addr is of illegal length
                                                              java.net.InetAddress.getByAddress(InetAddress.java:1037)
                                                              java.net.InetAddress.getByAddress(InetAddress.java:1434)

com.cisco.nm.ani.server.devices.AppHost.seaview.seaviewCerGMPDSMFGetCCMPhoneDetails.generateCCMPhoneMapDetails(seaviewCerGMPDSMFGetCCMPhoneDetails.java:67)

The issue is not seen in the major discovery as the logic for incremental discovery is different than the Major discovery.
Even if IPv6 is not used, this applies as CER will check the information for all fields.

Conditions:
The defect was detected in CER version 12.5 SU2
