Last Modified

Aug 27, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches

Known Affected Releases

14.2(4b)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
A switch SSD fails in less than two years and needs replacement. The /mnt/pss/ssd_log_amp.log file shows daily P/E cycles increasing by 10 or more each day, and fault "F3525: High SSD usage" is observed. ARP/ICMPv6 adjacency updates can also contribute to many SSD writes.

Conditions:
Check the object store MIT updates in the policyelem logs and see if the l3epScanInfo managed object has multiple MIT updates in the SSD.

ifav60-leaf1# zgrep "MIT" svc_ifc_policyelem.log.*.gz | egrep -o "dn=.*" | sort | grep -i l3epscaninfo | tail
