Last Modified

Known Affected Releases

18.3.0 19.4.0

Description (partial)

gen-gx-drop-trap.sh script has a hardcoded threshold value for Gx processing time:

#alarm if Gx message processing above 20ms
TRAP_AVG_LEVEL=20

This threshold can be too low for some situations, generating multiple alarms for values just above threshold that are not service impacting but filling up the logs with alarms and errors.

Symptom:
multiple alarms being generated, just above threshold filling up the logs, causing confusion and concern when actually service is not impacted

Conditions:
When processing time is just above threshold, usually due to the extra processing time used by LDAP query response and Sy LSR message
