Last Modified

Jun 30, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco MDS 9000 NX-OS and SAN-OS Software

Known Affected Releases

9.3(4)IIL9(0.576)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
Unicast Traffic destined to Remote VTEP (inter or intra site) arrives with Destination IP of Physical IP (PIP), while host resides behind VPC.

Traffic is dropped on Remote VTEP due to DF check failure: UC_DF_CHECK_FAIILURE

Remote VTEP's will see Next Hop entry of affected host's pointing to PIP instead of VIP (Virtual IP) of originating VTEP. Destination host resides behind VPC member port.

Conditions:
VPC with Virtual Peer-link, aka Fabric VPC peering
BGP EVPN Fabric
Normally seen after switch reload/GIR/VPC domain recovery

Problem State:
show l2route mac-ip all
