Cisco Bug: CSCvt55002 - ToR switch reload required after enabling MPLS to get the VRF stats
Oct 03, 2020
- Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches
Known Affected Releases
On Border Leafs, MPLS stats will replace the VFC stats when MPLS config is enabled. This is because of hardware resource limitation to account stats. This replacement of stats will happen with reload based model. This is an interim approach. In the next release, switch stats from MPLS to non-MPLS mode and vice versa will happen dynamically. There will be no need for a reload based approach. Symptom: When MPLS config is enabled, a fault will be raised in APIC asking to reload the switch in order to enable MPLS statistics. Only after a reload is done, MPLS stats will start getting accounted. Conditions: 1) When the MPLS config is added to BL, a fault is raised in APIC requesting a reload to enable MPLS stats for that switch. 2) Once reload is done, the leaf comes up with MPLS stats enabled. This stats will replace VFC stats. 3) If no reload is done and the MPLS config is deleted, the fault gets cleared and no further action is required. 4) After enabling MPLS stats once, subsequent upgrades will not raise any fault. Hence, no extra reload is required after initial reload. 5) If a clean reload (stateless reload) is done, then the state will be lost. This would require an additional reload to enable the MPLS stats configuration.
