Cisco Bug: CSCvt54925 - VCS/Expressway cuts off URI parameters in Location Requests

Last Modified

Apr 23, 2020

Products (1)

  • Cisco TelePresence Video Communication Server (VCS)

Known Affected Releases

X12.5.6

Description (partial)

Symptom:
In an environment with a EXP-C cluster (at least two nodes), endpoint A registered to master node and endpoint B registered to slave node.
When a SIP call is placed from endpoint B to endpoint A, slave node sends a location request to the master, if the SIP URI has additional parameters (e.g., ;parameter=value;parameter=value) then the location request may cut off these parameters.
If these parameters are cut off and end up in an incomplete format (e.g., ;parameter=value;parameters=) then the server may drop the call with "Unsupported URI Scheme" error.

Conditions:
This usually happens with "Call my video system" WebEx option as this service attaches ";srvc=spark;transport=tls" parameters in the URI.
