Cisco Bug: CSCvt45502 - SDA Wireless: IPv6: Router Advertisement from incorrect VN/pool

Last Modified

  • Cisco Aironet 1850 Series Access Points

Known Affected Releases

8.8(111.0)

Description (partial)

Symptom:
SDA wireless deployment with IPv6.
All users connect to the same SSID which is linked to a VN pool in DNAC by default.
After Dot1X authentication, based on the user groups, ISE will authorize the user to his/her IP Pool/VN.
ISE does override the VN correctly for the user based on the authorization policy and the user gets the IPv6 address correctly from DHCPv6 server from the correct VN/pool.
The issue is that the edge switch also advertise RA (Router Advertisement) for default SSID pool/VN to the user.
This causes a problem because the PC installs this incorrect route in the routing table and thinks that this default SSID pool/VN subnet is directly connected.
The issue is not seen with wired IPv6 clients.

Conditions:
SDA wireless deployment with IPv6.
